Graduate Program in Cardiovascular Sciences

Cardiovascular disease continues to be the leading cause of death worldwide, and is predicted to be the leading cause of all disability by 2020. While it is a rapidly growing health concern, current therapies for cardiovascular disease remain insufficient. Translational (bench-to-bedside) research in this field is exceedingly important to obtain further insight into the molecular basis cardiovascular function and disease and potentially provide novel therapeutic targets. The Graduate Program in Cardiovascular Sciences at the University of Rochester is part of a strategic 10-year, $500 million plan to enhance translational research, and integrates scientists across all disciplines of cardiovascular research, including vascular, cardiac and electrophysiological investigation utilizing state-of-the art techniques. The Graduate Program in Cardiovascular Sciences is housed in an 84,000 sq. ft building dedicated solely to the Aab Cardiovascular Research Institute of the University of Rochester. We seek students wishing to train with world-class scientists in a multi-disciplinary program to learn state-of the art techniques that will be applied to the investigation of cardiovascular function and disease.
