Pediatrics / Pulmonology Division

Pulmonology Division

Research activities focus on clinical studies of cystic fibrosis, respiratory syncytial virus bronchiolitis, lung disease in preterm infants, and developmental origins of asthma, lung diseases, and allergies. In addition, the division is home to basic science laboratories with a focus in understanding the mechanism of abnormal lung regeneration, airway fibrosis and early lung function decline from inhalation injuries.

Faculty oversee the Pediatric Pulmonary Function Laboratory, the Pediatric Bronchoscopy Service, the Cystic Fibrosis Center, and work closely with the Sleep Disorders Center, the Division of Allergy and Immunology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Otolaryngology, and other subspecialties. The division participates in the Finger Lakes Children’s Environmental Health Center (FLCEHC), evaluating and treating children with environmental exposures that may lead to lung problems.
