Health Sciences Center for Computational Innovation (HSCCI)

Executive Director: David Topham, Ph.D.

The HSCCI provides innovative approaches to the use of high-performance computational and data visualization technologies for research.

Department of Biostatistics and Computational Biology (DBCB)

Department Chair: Robert L. Strawderman, ScD

The DBCB provides collaborative research support, consultation (including grant preparation), and education to faculty researchers, postdoctoral scholars, and graduate students in the basic sciences, health sciences, clinical research, and others.

Rochester Center for Health Informatics (RCHI)

Director: Martin Zand, M.D., Ph.D.

The mission of the RCHI is to build a “learning healthcare system” which uses local and regional health data and predictive data science to improve community health and serve as a model for others.

UR Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (UR CTSI), Informatics Group

Director: Timothy Dye, Ph.D.

The UR CTSI Informatics Group provides consultations around eRecord, and technical assistance in creating, managing, and providing access to research data.

Center for Human Experimental Therapeutics (CHET)

Director: E. Ray Dorsey, M.D., M.B.A.

CHET's mission is to conduct hypothesis-driven, rigorously designed, initial investigations of novel therapeutic interventions for human diseases. The Center provides project management, data management, new ideas, intellectual capital, and data analysis.

Center for Population Health Outcomes and Informatics (C-PHOi)

Director: Irena Pesis-Katz, Ph.D.

The C-PHOi's purpose is to inform strategic decisions that lead to clinical, operational, and financial efficiency. The Center uses "big data" to lead population health outcomes and evaluation analyses.

Wilmot Cancer Institute Analytics & Outcomes Center

Director: David Dougherty, M.D.

The goal of the Wilmot Cancer Institute Analytics & Outcomes Center is to provide patient registries, outcomes, and value-based data to the WCI leadership and service lines.

Health Lab

Director: David Mitten, M.D.

The Health Lab is a multidisciplinary collaboration between the University of Rochester Medical Center, UR Medical Faculty Group, and River Campus that leverages cloud-based computing & analytics, multifunction sensors, 3D imaging & modeling, and virtual & augmented reality technologies to solve modern day challenges in medicine.  The Health Lab collaborates with internal and corporate partners to advance precision health & wellness, data collection & expert systems, electronic health record integration & optimization, and enterprise-level cross platform mobile software development.  These solutions not only have commercial value, but in many cases, lead to the spin-out of start-up companies.  The Lab also offers an educational program to the Medical Center and River Campus community to increase expertise using medical informatics and core Epic technologies.

Genomics Research Center (GRC)

Director: Steven Gill, Ph.D.

The GRC is a collaborative center that provides high-throughput genomic sequencing and data analysis, including standard genomic methods and novel emerging approaches, for biomedical research.

Marketing Analytics (Simon School)

Director: Rajiv Dewan

Marketing Analytics at the Simon School provides students with concepts and skills for marketing analyst positions. These students typically are involved with pricing, advertising, distribution, and product design decisions.

URMC Analytics Committee

Director: Paul Levy, M.D.

The Analytics Committee is a multidisciplinary group charged by Dr. Brad Berk to develop a Clinical Information Infrastructure; establish strategy and priorities to populate a clinical data warehouse; and support the data and analytics needs of the URMC insurance strategy committee.

Infrastructure Support

Division of Medical Informatics and ISD Clinical Informatics

Director: David Krusch, M.D.

The mission of the Division of Medical Informatics is to support applied informatics, health informatics, and education. The Division enhances research, education, and the use of analytics in a collaborative approach to improve health informatics throughout the health delivery system, ultimately improving individual and population health.

Center for Integrated Research Computing (CIRC)

Director: Brendan Mort, Ph.D.

CIRC at the University of Rochester provides researchers across the University of Rochester with hardware, software, training, and support necessary to utilize computational and data analytics technology in research activities in all areas of academic scholarship.
