About Judy DiMarzo
The Survivorship Program at Wilmot was made possible by a generous gift from Judy’s Fund: Hope for Cancer Survivors. This fund was established by Richard DiMarzo after his wife, Judy, lost a 9-year battle with lymphoma.
Judy and Richard first came to Wilmot for a second opinion. As the couple was speaking to one of Wilmot’s oncology fellows, the doctor closed his chart and said, “I have all the time in the world for you.” That is when Judy and Richard knew that Wimot was the place for them.
Richard was inspired by the way Judy led her life in the face of cancer. “Cancer survivorship best exemplified her life,” says Richard. “Judy lived her life with hope for herself, her family and for those around her.”
Judy’s life and her struggle with cancer affected patients, doctor, nurses and many others. Now, through the fund established in her memory, she will continue to impact the lives of those battling and recovering from cancer.
“There are people that you meet that stay with you forever,” says Meg Blaney, Blood and Marrow Transplant Coordinator at Wilmot. “I am glad that Judy will stay in the minds of so many—of people who never had the chance to meet her—through this fund.”
