Lung, Breathing, Nose and Sinus Care
Lungs and Breathing
Do not smoke cigarettes, cigars, pipes, or other substances that may irritate your lungs. Avoid people who are smoking and smoke filled rooms. Avoid areas containing known air pollutants and those under construction. If you develop a cough, sputum, or become short of breath, call your nurse coordinator, nurse practitioner, or physician.
Nose and Sinuses
It is common to experience sinus problems. If you have any pain or drainage, notify your physician as this may require treatment.
The membranes lining your nose may be dry. For relief of nasal irritation, use saline nasal spray (such as Ocean Spray). Do not share your nasal spray with others. Do not use preparations such as Afrin or Dristan, as they may be drying.
