UR CTSI Population Health Postdoc Receives Award for Obesity Research

Congratulations to the UR CTSI’s first Population Health postdoctoral fellow, Ying Meng, Ph.D., R.N., on taking home the top award for a poster competition at the Obesity Society’s Annual Scientific Meeting in early November. Meng’s award-winning poster focused on how genes and diet work together to influence weight gain during pregnancy.

John Cullen Appointed to Leadership Role in AAMC's Group on Women in Medicine and Science

As the new issue-based representative of the Group on Women in Medicine and Science steering committee, Cullen will contribute unique perspectives on male allyship and increasing support for female biomedical researchers.

TL1 Training Program Director Tim Dye’s research group sent an unusually large delegation of its members to the American Public Health Association’s Annual Meeting and Expo last week. In all, 11 team members presented 18 oral or poster presentations.

Restructuring Clinical Research at URMC

In the midst of restructuring the clinical research enterprise at URMC, search committees are working to identify internal candidates for two top clinical research positions: Senior Associate Dean for Clinical Research, a position currently held by Jill Halterman, M.D., M.P.H., and Director of the Clinical Research Office, a newly created role.
