Clinical Fellowship in Acute Care

The acute care team is seeking a full time, twelve-month clinical fellow to begin January 2025.  Our clinical fellowship is structured to provide experience at all levels of acute care in a wide variety of specialty areas including but not limited to neurology, cardiology, transplant, trauma, oncology, surgical, and hospital medicine.  Our goal is to provide new clinicians with a strong foundation to become a well-rounded Medical Speech-Language Pathologist.  The clinical fellow will become proficient in the completion of Modified Barium Swallow Studies and participate in FEES. 

Job Description:

Full time, 40 hours Speech Pathology

January 2025 -December 2025

8AM – 4:30PM; January-June is Monday through Friday, then July-December is Sunday- Thursday. Some holiday coverage is expected.

Position Summary:

The clinical fellow will be mentored and supervised by a certified speech-language pathologist.  This position is responsible for providing diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients across the continuum of scope including swallowing, speech, language, cognition, voice and alternative means of communication.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Completion of M.A. or M.S. degree in an accredited speech-language pathology program at the time of the start date.  All applicants must qualify for application of the required New York State temporary licensure and should be obtained prior to their start date. Previous clinical experience providing direct patient care in a medical setting and prior use of electronic medical records (EMR) is preferred.
