Schwartz Center Rounds
3rd Wednesday of the Month at Noon
Schwartz Rounds is an interdisciplinary community gathering focused on the human dimensions of health care. It brings together caregivers from a range of disciplines and levels of training to share experiences and perspectives, and thereby to learn from each other and broaden their view. It was created by health care lawyer Kenneth Schwartz, to “strengthen the human connection, the heart of health care.” Nearly 200 hospitals, hospices and other healthcare organizations conduct Schwartz Rounds in the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. The Schwartz Center is in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Unlike grand rounds, this is not about clinical problem-solving, but rather about exploring and processing the emotions that come up in the daily work of caring. For more information about Schwartz Center Rounds visit www.theschwartzcenter.org.
Traditionally held in a large auditorium, Covid-19 has moved us to a purely virtual Zoom format. For further information, contact our Education Coordinator, Gina Zinn.
Annual Palliative Care Collaborative Conference of Rochester
2022 marks the 10th year of this co-sponsored regional meeting. It draws several hundred multidisciplinary clinicians, learners and community members from all levels of palliative care expertise and approach. Speakers include international, national, and regional experts. Each Conference includes several plenary sessions and over a dozen workshops designed to meet the needs and interests of all learners, from introductory overviews (eg., Opioids 101) to state of the science updates. The 2022 Conference will be held virtually. Event details.
