About the Program Director
Dr. Joseph Poli serves both as the Director of our Chronic Pain Service at our Pain Treatment Center as well as the Program Director for our Multidisciplinary Pain Medicine Fellowship within the Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine at the University of Rochester (URMC). He completed his anesthesiology residency at URMC and subsequently went on to complete his pain medicine fellowship at NYU Langone Medical Center. He is board certified in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine.
Dr. Poli has been a popular instructor for a number of national and local hands-on cadaver & live model interventional workshops focused on both regional anesthesia and advanced chronic pain procedures. In addition, he has been an invited speaker at numerous institutional departments on such topics of perioperative pain control and neuromodulation. His interests include utilizing innovative methods and novel minimally invasive therapies to combat the opioid crisis in Upstate New York while extending the provision of care to our more underserved areas.
