We offer both ACGME and CAST certified neurocritical care fellowships. We are a closed 12 bed ICU in a Level 1 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center. Our multidisciplinary team includes fellowship trained, board certified Neurointensivists, APPs, critical care fellows, residents, nurses, neuro-pharmacist, respiratory therapy, physical and occupational therapy, and social work. We provide the highest-level care to complex, critically ill Neurologic and Neurosurgical patients. Common diagnoses encountered in our patients include ischemic stroke, hemorrhagic stroke, SAH, status epilepticus, TBI, and neuromuscular respiratory failure.

URMC is known for its collegial environment and evidence based approach to patient care. We collaborate daily with the neurosurgery, stroke and general neurology teams. We provide neuro prognostication consults for post-cardiac arrest patients and patients on ECMO. Our fellows are well-trained in procedures, including intubations, bronchoscopy, central and arterial lines. There is support for fellows to attend yearly national meetings.
