Welcome to the Medical Scientist Research Symposium!
Celebrating 12 Years of the MSRS: Friday, April 12, 2024
Each year, the MSTP leadership and student council host a symposium on campus, at which current MD/PhD students from Rochester and other institutions in western New York present posters and deliver oral and poster presentations on their research. Current Rochester medical students in research, interested graduate students and faculty and other members of the community are also invited to attend. The highlight of the symposium is a keynote lecture from a distinguished scientist from outside of the Rochester community. We are delighted to be celebrating our 12th annual MSRS this year, on April 12, 2024. We hope to see you there!

Who can attend?
We encourage and hope that this event will draw a large audience of students researchers from across the University to promote interaction, discussion and collaboration. As such, all are invited to attend our poster session, keynote address, and student presentations.
Note: All University of Rochester MSTP students are required to attend.
Who can present?
The annual MSRS will include presenters from the Rochester MD/PhD Program, as well as other (non-MSTP) University of Rochester medical students, fellows, and other interested parties. In addition, we would like to invite all interested colleagues from our nearby M.D./Ph.D. programs at SUNY Upstate and SUNY Buffalo to submit poster presentations for this event.
Can we meet with the keynote speaker?
This depends on the travel arrangements and time restrictions for the speaker. However, we would like to try and accommodate all requests. If you would like to meet with the speaker, please email the chair of the organizing committee, or the MSTP office at mstp@urmc.rochester.edu.
How is the event funded?
The MSRS is made possible by the Dr. Thomas A. and Joyce E. Pearson Endowed Lectureship Fund, funding from the Rochester Medical Scientist Training Program (NIH T32GM07356), and other sponsoring departments within the University of Rochester School of Medicine.
