Giving to the Del Monte Institute for Neuroscience
Your generous support enables the Del Monte Institute for Neuroscience to take the lead in becoming a world recognized Neuromedicine program and continue its quest to offer hope for patients with neurological diseases.
The Ernest J. Del Monte Institute for Neuroscience is poised to become a national leader, bringing together internationally recognized brain scientists and outstanding Neuromedicine clinicians under one roof. Their goal is to find new treatments and cures for a growing epidemic of neurological conditions including Alzheimer’s disease, stroke, traumatic brain and spinal cord injury, brain tumors, and muscular dystrophies.
Ernest J. Del Monte, who passed away in April 2012, was a University of Rochester Life Trustee, a visionary, and an extraordinary philanthropist. Del Monte and his wife, Thelma, made a $10 million gift to the University to support the study of some of the most progressive research programs in the field of neurosciences.
Del Monte’s support of the Medical Center will live on in perpetuity through the Ernest J. Del Monte Institute for Neuroscience and a quest to fund the stellar faculty whose expertise is felt in the Rochester community and around the world.
