Emergency Imaging

emergency imaging

The Division of Emergency Imaging’s mission is to provide the highest quality patient care and consultation by providing real-time faculty supervision of diagnostic radiology services 24 hours/day throughout the UR Medicine enterprise.

Our division provides urgent and emergent clinical imaging and interpretation to all relevant URMC services and centers, including Kessler Burn & Trauma Center, Golisano Children’s Hospital, Wilmot Cancer Center, and the UR Medicine Comprehensive Stroke Center. Over 75,000 patients/year undergo initial imaging evaluation in URMC-affiliated emergency radiology services.

We provide state-of-the-art radiology services to the greater Rochester community at Strong Memorial Hospital, Strong West, Highland Hospital and UR Medicine Urgent Care Centers.  In addition, our team provides imaging services at a widening circle of regional community UR Medicine affiliated hospitals that include Noyes Health, St. James Hospital, and F.F. Thompson Hospital.

We work closely with Emergency Medicine, Acute/Trauma Surgery, Neurology, Neurosurgery, and relevant Pediatric and inpatient services in order to support and respond to the needs of our physicians and patients.

Questions or concerns regarding Emergency Imaging clinical services or patient care should be directed to the Imaging Information Center (IIC) at (585) 273-3400 (24 hours/day).
