The UR Vaccine and Treatment Evaluation Unit (VTEU), directed by  Ann R. Falsey, M.D., and Angela R. Branche, M.D., conducts clinical trials of new vaccines, treatments and diagnostics for a variety of infectious diseases backed by NIH funding.

Areas of study include:

  • Development of vaccines and treatments for SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19)
  • Development of a universal flu vaccine
  • Development of treatments for respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and other respiratory diseases
  • Development of treatments for resistant sexually transmitted diseases

As part of our mission, the VTEU welcomes applications from junior researchers interested in NIH funding to conduct infectious diseases research. Learn about proposing a study concept in the VTEU Network.
