Katherine Escalera-Rivera Receives Awards

Katherine Escalera-Rivera, a PhD candidate in the laboratory of Jennifer Anolik, MD, PhD, is studying the Inflammatory processes involved in the onset and development of osteoarthritis. She has been selected for several awards including, the Scientist Mentoring and Diversity Program (Biotech), a travel scholarship for the 2024 National Diversity in STEM (NDiSTEM) Conference organized by SACNAS, and a 2024 ASBMR URM Mentorship Award.

Drs. Korman and Garcia-Henandez Receive University Research Award

Benjiman Korman, MD and Maria De La Luz Garcia-Hernandez, PhD have been awarded funding for their research project “Development and Characterization of a Humanized Model of Systemic Sclerosis." Development and Characterization of a Humanized Model of Systemic Sclerosis." The principal aim of the University Research Award (URA) program is to provide seed money to enable the development of new, innovative research projects with a high probability of attracting external support in the short term.
