Graduate Student Opportunities in MRI Development and Application to HIV Research

We are seeking motivated graduate students with a background in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Physics to join our cutting-edge research on MRI development and post-processing. This project is funded by a 5-year NIH grant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize CEST MRI techniques for brain imaging using compressed sensing and deep learning.
  • Apply CEST MRI and other MRI methods to study brain changes associated with HIV and liver disease.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of researchers, clinicians, and biostatisticians.
  • Participate in data analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of research findings.
  • Contribute to the preparation of research publications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • Strong background in MRI physics, signal processing, or imaging techniques.
  • Experience with programming languages such as MATLAB, Python.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Prior research experience in MRI or related areas is highly desirable.
