Dr. Correll is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine. She also has an adjunct appointment in the Department of Pediatrics.

Dr. Correll obtained her MD and PhD both at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, and her undergraduate degree at Dartmouth College. She is a pediatric anesthesiologist who did pediatric and anesthesiology residences, both at the University of Rochester. She completed her Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship in Rochester, and is board certified in both general, and pediatric anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA). In addition, Dr. Correll completed a fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the Academy of Health in Medicine in La Jolla, California, and is board certified by the American Board of Integrative Medicine (ABIOM).

In graduate school Dr. Correll studied the immunologic basis for heritable blood-related cancers, and was the recipient of both an NIH T-32 grant as well as an AMA Seed Grant for that work. She published on new genetic models of T Cell leukemias, and delineated the genetic patterns responsible for certain aspects of the disease.

Her current research and interests involve using evidence-based integrative modalities to mitigate the stressors of the perioperative period on pediatric patients and their supporters. She is the director of the Pediatric Perioperative Wellness Program (PPWP) at the Center for Perioperative Medicine. This program teaches patients and their loved ones about the body’s stress response during the surgical journey, and how it can be controlled by practicing mind-body techniques and modalities. She has been awarded grants from the American Association of Pediatrics Section on Integrative Medicine and the University of Rochester Department of Orthopedics for research regarding this work.

Dr. Correll is the chairperson of the Society for Pediatric Anesthesiology Integrative Medicine Special Interest Group, and is also a MOCA question writer for the ABA
