Dr. Webster earned his doctoral degree in biophysics from the University of California, San Diego, specializing in the development of novel brachytherapy applicators. He went on to complete is residency training at UT Southwestern. Afterwards, he worked at the University of Iowa before joining the University of Rochester team. He is a certified medical physicist and an active member of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine. He is currently the president of the Upstate New York Association of Physicists in Medicine (UNYAPM).

Dr. Webster is the program director of the medical physics residency, which he worked to develop. As residency director, Dr. Webster is committed to providing residents with a comprehensive and hands-on educational experience. He is eager to incorporate the latest advances in medical physics into the curriculum. Dr. Webster is dedicated to mentoring and supporting the residents and helping them to achieve their career goals in the field of medical physics. He is also an active member in the Medical Physics Graduate program, teaching multiple courses.
