2023 Young Investigator OCD Grant Activity (YOGA)
The Conte Center for Research in OCD is a long-standing research program dedicated to understanding the neural circuits involved in obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), which can be used to develop novel treatments. Using a multi-center, cross-species approach, the Center is funded by the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIMH, P50-MH106435). The Center’s Young Investigator OCD Grant Activity (YOGA) offers up to $25,000 a year for up to two (2) years to enable promising investigators to extend their research in area relevant to OCD, as they begin careers as independent research faculty.
The overall goal for training in our Center is to increase interest in translational research in OCD by exposing young investigators to both basic and clinical approaches, as well as increase the number of underrepresented minorities in the neuroscience pipeline. This will be facilitated by providing funds for a competitive two-year grant to a Post-doctoral Fellow or Assistant Professor to expand their studies to include questions of relevance to OCD.
Applicants to the YOGA Program can come from within, or outside of, the participating Institutions of our Center and preference will be given to applicants whose research is not presently focused on OCD. Special consideration will be given to under-represented minorities (URMs). The awardee will be invited to attend the bi-monthly Center meetings and present updates on their work. Regular exposure to a translational group using cross-species approaches will have a stimulating effect on the awardee’s career.
Application Acceptance Period: May 12–June 30, 2023
