Vein Center Earns IAC Accreditation
UR Medicine Vein Center is the region’s first vascular surgery-led team to earn Intersocietal Accreditation Commission accreditation for comprehensive vein care.
“This is a tremendous step forward for our team and provides our patients with assurance that they are receiving vein care that meets the highest quality standards,” said Jennifer Ellis, M.D., director of the Vein Center and assistant professor of Vascular Surgery. The IAC seal-of-approval follows an intensive process that includes a rigorous review of the center’s operational and technical processes and patient outcomes.
The Vein Center offers care at 140 Canal View Blvd., along with UR Medicine Heart & Vascular’s Rochester CardioPulmonary Group. Collaboration between the two specialty groups creates the premier outpatient cardiovascular location in Upstate New York.
Vascular Surgery specializes in open, hybrid, and minimally invasive endovascular procedures to diagnosis and treat aneurysms, blocked arteries, blood clots, varicose veins, as well as compromised blood flow to the brain, intestines, and kidneys.
UR Medicine Imaging Sciences and Cardiology also hold IAC accreditation for diagnostic testing and care programs.
The IAC provides accreditation programs for vascular testing, echocardiography, nuclear/PET, MRI, diagnostic CT, dental CT, carotid stenting, vein treatment and management and cardiac electrophysiology.
