The Frank and Caroline Gannett Emergency Center
This is a fast-paced Adult Emergency Department (ED), a state-of-the-art facility that manages more than 100,000 visits a year and is one of the busiest trauma centers in the country. It is the only Level I trauma hospital in the area. Responsible for treating a diverse patient population for everything from splinters to strokes to traumatic injuries. It’s a challenging job with powerful payback: the satisfaction of knowing you made a difference in the lives of patients and families.
Emergency Department Observation Unit I
The Observation unit cares for adult patients needing additional observation to determine if the patient’s condition is serious enough for admission to the hospital or if the patient can be treated and released home safely. The Observation unit is a very fast paced environment that turns over 20 to 27 patients per day, with an average length of stay of 27 hours. The unit has 24/7 provider coverage.
Observation Units are the newest and fastest growing level of care in the acute care hospitals. The Observation Unit at University of Rochester Medical Center is the largest Observation Unit in the country and has been recognized Nationally as a model for Excellence
G1600 Emergency Medicine Transition Unit
The Transition unit cares for a wide variety of adult patients whose stay ranges from short stay to full admissions. The Transition unit is a fast-paced environment that can turnover 50% of the unit each day. Patients can be discharged from the unit or stay until a room is available on a floor.
Strong West Emergency – Brockport Location
Strong West Emergency Department is a fast-paced free-standing ED that manages 20,000 visits a year. Staff is responsible for treating a diverse patient population for everything from minor complaints to strokes to traumatic injuries. Our focus is on patient centered care with dedicated and caring professionals working as a team to deliver the best for the people we serve.
University of Rochester Urgent Care – Several Locations (Henrietta, Greece, Penfield, Perinton, Pittsford and Spencerport)
Treat patients with minor illnesses and injuries. Care for patients collaboratively with advanced practice practitioners and/or attending physicians. Flexibility, enthusiasm and a willingness to care for a diverse patient population in a fast-paced environment are required. One-year acute med/surg or Emergency Department experience preferred. Will be required to float to all Monroe County urgent care locations.
