UR Medicine / Transplant Institute / Transplant Fellowship

Transplant Surgery Fellowship

Our program mission is to improve the well-being of our patients and honor the gift of life shared by our living and deceased donors by providing world class transplant care for patients with end stage organ failure and liver malignancies. The cornerstones of the program will be patient and family centered care enriched by education, science, and technology. In alignment with the University’s motto of Meliora, meaning ever better, and innovation- we are national leaders in robotic kidney transplantation and Transplant Oncology as well as the second largest living donor liver transplant program in NYS. Our fellowship will strive to provide comprehensive training for future academic surgeons in organ transplantation and impart the need to consider the whole patient and family while providing outstanding clinical care.

Upon completion of the two-year intensive fellowship program at the University of Rochester Medical Center, the fellow will be eligible to apply for ASTS Transplant Surgery Practice Certification and should be competitively considered for an attending position at a transplant program in the United States or their home country.
