Support & Survivorship

Support

Cervical cancer can affect many aspects of your life. That’s why the Wilmot Cancer Institute provides the area’s most extensive support services for patients and their families.

Survivorship

A healthy life after cancer is the goal of every cancer patient. But the best way to achieve that varies widely — depending on you, your type of cancer, and the treatment you received. The Wilmot Cancer Institute offers the area's only Survivorship Program. We provide each patient with a comprehensive plan for life after cervical cancer, personalized to your health, life, goals and concerns. To learn more, talk with your care team.

Palliative Care

At Wilmot Cancer Institute, physicians from UR Medicine's Palliative Care Program are key members of the care team. Palliative care focuses on alleviating pain and symptoms—such as nausea or shortness of breath—that can come with a serious illness like cancer and its treatment. Sometimes confused with hospice, palliative care is different because it can accompany any and all desired medical treatments for cancer or other conditions. It is about helping those facing cancer and their families to live better while they're undergoing treatment.
