Support & Survivorship

Support

Treatment for lymph and blood cancers can sometimes take years. Patients usually require support after treatment and close monitoring by physicians. Wilmot provides the most extensive support services for patients and their families in the Finger Lakes region.

Survivorship

A healthy life after cancer is the goal of every cancer patient. But the best way to achieve that varies widely — depending on you, your type of cancer, and the treatment you received. The Wilmot Cancer Institute offers the area's only Survivorship Program. We provide each patient with a comprehensive plan for life after lymphoma, personalized to your health, life, goals and concerns. To learn more, talk with your care team.

Palliative care

At Wilmot Cancer Institute, physicians from UR Medicine’s Palliative Care Program are key members of the care team. Sometimes confused with hospice, palliative care can accompany any and all desired medical treatment for cancer or other conditions. Palliative care focuses on alleviating the pain and symptoms — such as nausea and shortness of breath — that can come with a serious illness like cancer and its treatment. It is about helping those facing cancer and their families live better while they’re undergoing treatment.
