BMT Nurse Coordinators
The BMT nurse coordinators work with the patients, physicians, financial coordinators, social workers, and other teams, including the NMDP, to organize all aspects of care before and after the transplant. In conjunction with the BMT attending physician, the nurse coordinator is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patients throughout the continuum of care. In addition, nurse coordinators facilitate the referral and testing process, conduct patient and staff education, and assist in arranging outpatient care leading up to and following transplant, including long-term follow-up as needed after the patient returns to the referring physician. Wilmot is proud to have a number of BMT nurse coordinators.
