Golisano Children's Hospital / Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics / Services / Visual Supports / Listening With a Stethoscope Listening With a Stethoscope Today, the doctor will listen to my heart with a stethoscope. The doctor can hear how my heart is working. When the doctor puts the stethoscope on my chest, it may feel cold or tickle. I will be brave and it will not hurt. The doctor will ask me to breathe in and out. I can sit still until the doctor is done. When I am finished, everyone will be proud of me!
