Healthy Together Family Program

family silhouetteJoin us for this interactive six-session group program to learn how small healthy lifestyle changes for your family can make a big difference in everyone's overall health and wellbeing. Our multi-disciplinary team of physicians, lifestyle counselors, a nurse practitioner and registered dietitians are here for you!

Healthy Together is for youth between the ages of 7 and 13 with an elevated body mass index (BMI), and their caregiver(s). Each session is two hours.

Topics Covered:

  • Nutrition Basics - Learn new recipes, how to create a balanced plate that the whole family will enjoy, and strategies for navigating the grocery store.
  • Movement - Learn a variety of ways to be active through play.
  • Mindfulness - Practice mindful eating and learn about how we make food choices using our brain, our body and our emotions to help us meet the important needs of being a person.
  • Stress - Learn about the different types of stress and how a little may be okay, but why we may need outlets when it becomes too much.  
  • Sleep - Review current recommendations and make a plan for increasing sleep hygiene through routine.
  • Labs 101 - Learn why labs like hemoglobin A1C, liver function tests, and cholesterol are important to understand. What do they mean to your overall health and how can small lifestyle changes help improve them?
  • Goal Setting - Learn how understanding your values and reasons for motivation affect your goals to live your healthiest life.

During every session, you and your child will have a one-on-one visit with one of our medical providers to discuss your individual progress, review and discuss recent labs or changes to your medical history, and check in on your personal goals.

These visits are billed to your insurance like regular follow up visits with your provider.
