Musculoskeletal Imaging
Make Appointments & Get Care
Overview
Musculoskeletal imaging uses medical images of bones, joints, and soft tissues to diagnose conditions. Our experts work to deliver timely and patient-oriented care to help with your evaluation and treatment.
UR Medicine's Approach
Our Musculoskeletal Division offers a wide range of diagnostic services and image-guided procedures. We provide interpretation of all musculoskeletal studies using the latest technology, including:
- Bone densitometry
- Fluoroscopy
- Radiography
- Conventional computed tomography (CT)
- Cone beam CT
- Dual energy CT
- Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
- Ultrasound
Our experienced radiologists also perform and supervise fluoroscopic and ultrasound-guided joint injections, joint aspirations, CT and MRI arthrography and—in collaboration with the Interventional Radiology Division—bone/soft tissue biopsies and percutaneous radio-frequency ablation of osteoid osteomas.
What Sets Us Apart?
The Musculoskeletal radiologists at the URMC Department of Imaging Sciences are board certified, fellowship trained, and sub-specialized in the evaluation of bone, joint, and soft tissue pathology.
Our faculty hold active leadership roles within the Medical Center and in local, national, and international medical and radiology societies, including the American College of Radiology, Society of Skeletal Radiology, and International Skeletal Society.
We collaborate closely with our Orthopaedic, Pathology, and Rheumatology departments and hold interdepartmental conferences and tumor boards on a regular basis.
