Bridging the Gap: Empowering Deaf and Hard
of Hearing Students in Hearing Research Environments

Deaf/HH Scientists Roc Conference aims to advance the success of deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals in biomedical and behavioral sciences research careers. It will do so by bringing together aspiring and successful Deaf/HH scientists and allied groups from across the nation to network and build a community – thereby creating opportunities for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Scientists as they navigate their training and career paths.

While the conference is targeted to support the Deaf/HH community, all groups are invited and encouraged to attend. The conference is open to undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral students, faculty and staff. We have an exciting program including a distinguished group of speakers, interactive poster sessions, small group breakout sessions and opportunities for networking.

Abstracts

A poster session will highlight the research carried out by undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, faculty, and staff attending the DEAF/HH Scientists Roc Conference.  Applicants are encouraged to submit abstracts on all aspects of research in biomedical and behavioral sciences, biostatistics, or population sciences (public health, epidemiology, community, and/or health disparities research).  Abstracts from Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing (D/HH) trainees and faculty in the biomedical and behavioral sciences or abstracts from mentors about best practices for working with and mentoring D/HH individuals are encouraged.

Monetary awards (3) will be presented at the end of the symposium for the best poster presentations.

Abstracts must be submitted by August 12, 2024.
