Rise and Shine: Tips for Waking Up Refreshed

If you have trouble sleeping, it's important to see a sleep specialist. But if you sleep well and still don't feel refreshed in the morning, try these easy sleep hacks:

  1. Stick to a schedule: Go to bed at the same time every night to help regulate your body's internal clock.
  2. Create a sleep-friendly environment: Make your bedroom cool, dark, and quiet. Avoid having pets in your room, as their movements might disturb your sleep.
  3. Develop a nighttime routine: Establish a calming routine before bed, free from screens, to signal your body that it's time to sleep.
  4. Avoid clock-watching: If you wake up during the night, resist the urge to check the time. It can cause stress and make it harder to fall back asleep.
  5. Skip alcohol before bed: While alcohol might make you sleepy initially, it can disrupt your ability to have deeper sleep stages later.
