UR Medicine spans 7 counties and includes 8 hospitals, 2 skilled nursing facilities, 12 urgent care centers, and 43 primary care practices. CROSS-TRAINING: Our trainees routinely work with faculty intensivists from internal medicine, emergency medicine, anesthesia, neurology, and surgery, while many core didactics are collaborative with the institution's four other critical care fellowships. ACADEMICS: Our university environment offers fellows a wealth of opportunities to pursue formal teaching experiences with various health professional trainees, to engage in quality improvement, and to perform bench or clinical research. Explore Fellow Life What Our Graduates Say URMC is a large referral center and you will care for both "bread and butter" cases that represent the bulk of surgical and medical ICU admissions as well as those rare or unusual presentations or diseases that will serve you well when you enter practice and encounter difficult cases. The faculty are all experts in intensive care with a depth of experience who are personable and take an interest in your development and growth as a fellow. I frequently recall the sage advice from my mentors at URMC and the lessons they imparted to me still guide me in practice today.
