- All our medical professionals are trained to help children who are the victims of abuse. Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE) are available 24/7 for forensic exams
- Children who need crisis intervention for acute emotional problems receive the care they need in our secure Psychiatric Emergency Unit. It is staffed 24/7 with board certified psychiatrists
Maximizing Comfort, Insuring Quality of Care
- The use of numbing cream before IV (intravenous) procedures
- Child-sized equipment, such as smaller gauge needles and tubes
- Child life specialists and nurses who are specially trained to talk to children at their level, to distract them and help them relax
- Interpreters, fluent in all major languages, including American Sign Language, are available 24 hours a day on site or with a special phone service
