Dr. Hossein Amirjamshidi received his bachelor of science degree in Biology from the University of British Columbia, and moved to Chicago to receive his Master’s degree in Biomedical sciences followed by his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School. He then completed 4 years of general surgery training at URMC and an additional year of research fellowship at LSI Solutions. He has been extensively involved in basic science and clinical research throughout his medical and surgical career and has published several peer reviewed articles and presented at national meetings. Throughout his research, he developed a particular interest in minimally invasive cardiac surgery. Outside the Hospital he enjoys spending time with his family and playing tennis.

Dr. Madeline Fryer is from Westborough, Massachusetts and graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a Bachelor's degree in Public Health Studies. Her interest in transplantation led her to pursue a Master of Medical Science in immunology from Harvard Medical School, and she continued to the University of Massachusetts to complete her medical degree. Madeline's primary clinical interests are mechanical circulatory support and cardiac transplantation for the treatment of heart failure. Outside of work, she enjoys projects around her "fixer upper" home, quilting, and spending time outdoors.
Dr. Ariana Goodman is a native of Montclair, New Jersey, but has spent a majority of time in Rochester, receiving her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering at the U of R as well as attending medical school at URSMD. She also completed a minor in American Sign Language and went on to participate in the "Deaf Health Track" in medical school. She spent one year of research during medical school at Stanford University studying pediatric cardiac surgery. In her free time she enjoys being outside with her rescue dog, Sophie, refurbishing old furniture, and baking anything with chocolate.

Dr. Julie Dalton hails from Dansville, NY and has an extensive academic affiliation with the University of Rochester, earning dual degrees in Evolutionary Biology and Ecology (B.S.) as well as Clinical and Social Psychology (B.A.). She subsequently went on to pursue a career in nursing, graduating from the University of Rochester School of Nursing with her B.S.N. While working as a registered nurse at UR Medicine, she earned her M.S. and later accepted a position in UR Medicine’s Department of Cardiac Surgery as a board-certified acute care nurse practitioner. Her love for adult cardiac surgery prompted her to return to continue her medical education, ultimately earning her medical degree with Magna Cum Laude honors from Albany Medical College, highlighted by election into Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Additionally, she was the recipient of the Ralph D. Alley Prize endowed by the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery as well as the Janet M. Glasgow Memorial Achievement Citation as a female honor student in recognition of her outstanding scholarship. Her surgical interests include aortic surgery and advanced operative heart failure management with research interests primarily dedicated to medical education. She is the proud mother of three children. She and her husband, Jon, enjoy family outings to the zoo, aquarium, parks, science museums, and especially Disney!

Dr. Andrew Jordan grew up in Rochester. Andrew earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed an internship at the University of Utah investigating fatal arrhythmias in diabetes. Andrew then earned his medical degree at Thomas Jefferson University. There, he conducted cardiovascular surgery research in the Assisted Circulation & Organ Replacement Laboratory and served on the editorial board of the journal Artificial Organs. Andrew's clinical interests include adult and congenital cardiac surgery. Outside of work, he enjoys skiing, hiking, and golf. Most of all, Andrew values quality time with his friends and family.

Dr. Mina Estafanos earned his Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science from the University of Cairo, Egypt. After spending a year at a pharmaceutical company, he founded an importing and exporting business in 2011, focusing on pharmaceutical medications for African countries. In 2012 Mina moved to the United States where he became a board-certified pharmacist and worked in retail pharmacies in Maryland and Washington, D.C. for 5 years. Following his passion for cardiothoracic surgery, he earned his medical degree from the University of Minnesota School of Medicine in 2024. Outside of work he enjoys biking, archery, volleyball, baking, volunteering at his local church, and teaching Sunday school.
