Educational Activities
We are committed to training the next generation of family physicians. Our graduates are capable of providing outstanding care in primary care practices in urban, suburban, and rural settings; in academic family medicine; and in specialized areas such as hospital medicine, urgent care, or fellowship-trained specialties. We aspire to establish a strong base of family medicine skills and knowledge across outpatient and inpatient settings while developing opportunities to expand based on individual interest and goals. We offer a substantial number of elective experiences across the University of Rochester and other local medical systems. We aspire to combine the best of our program’s long history and experience with the newest knowledge and methodologies. We offer robust obstetric training for interested residents and a singular focus on biopsychosocial skills training unlike any other program in the country. Our incorporation of anti-racist and inclusive content into all levels of our teaching better serves all of our patients now and in the future. We welcome you to our learning community!
Didactics on P2
"I cannot say enough about the support and teaching provided by the amazing faculty. They are excellent teachers and excellent role models. This program is constantly improving based on resident feedback. During my three years in training, the administration listened and the program evolved in small and big ways." -Zoe Gravitz, MD, Class of 2020.
