Getting Started for Postdoctoral Appointees

RCR Training | Health Insurance | Access Services and Support | myHub| Postdoc Association

Welcome and congratulations on your appointment as a Postdoctoral Appointee at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry!

The Office for Graduate Education and Postdoctoral Affairs (GEPA) is the central office that supports the postdoctoral community in the School of Medicine and Dentistry. GEPA is here to help you, so please be sure to contact us if you have any questions, concerns, suggestions, etc.

While your Departmental Administrator will take care of the vast majority of details that must be attended to in order for you to get started with our institution, we in GEPA would also like to highlight a few important resources and opportunities:

Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Training

Postdoctoral appointees are required to complete RCR education by completing the Ethics and Professional Integrity in Research course. The training must be completed as soon as possible upon the start of your appointment; the course is held during the Fall semester each year. Policy and Waiver Information

Health Insurance

Postdoctoral appointees are eligible for medical, dental and voluntary vision insurance from Gallagher. Please visit the Gallagher website to enroll. You must sign up for health insurance within 30 days of hire.
