Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship
The Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Fellowship is a 12-month non-ACGME fellowship. Departmental faculty and residents are required to follow the American College of Emergency Physician’s Ultrasound point-of-care guidelines which includes ultrasounds exams in aorta, biliary, echo, pelvic, FAST, and renal. In addition, they are also trained in lung, soft tissue, ocular, and ultrasound-guided vascular access exams.
Emergency ultrasound fellowship training advances the fellow’s expertise in emergency ultrasound over and above that of the general emergency physician skill set on multiple levels, with the objective of serving as an educator, researcher, or administrator in emergency ultrasound.
Clinical opportunities:
- Level 1 trauma hospital with a pediatric emergency department
- Suburban community hospital
- Rural/outlying community hospitals
- Stand-alone emergency department

APP Fellowship Program in Emergency Medicine

This is a one year post graduate NP/PA Fellowship program which will provide additional skills training, as well as independent mentorship experience in Emergency Medicine. This is an intensive clinical program which will prepare NP's and PA's to meet the needs of culturally diverse and clinically complex patients that are typical of the Emergency Department. Fellows will work with Emergency Medicine faculty with a wide variety of expertise in Emergency Medicine and will be on the cutting edge of health care delivery as they train to work within the University of Rochester Medical Center and it's affiliates. It is anticipated that the fellows will show clinical growth, improved clinical confidence and increased preparedness to care for patients in all of these locations, by the completion of the fellowship.
