Flavoring Inhalation Toxicology Research
Our mission is to understand the inhalation toxicology and human health effects of emerging flavoring chemicals and flavors used in electronic cigarettes and emerging tobacco and non-tobacco products (e-cigarettes, JUUL, vape pens, hookah/waterpipe, iQOS and conventional tobacco/cigarettes) for regulatory science and toxicology.
This center was created as a part of the mission on the NIH Tobacco Center for Regulatory Science grant (1U54CA228110-01) in partnership with Roswell Park Cancer Center. The center is housed in the Department of Environmental Medicine.

About The Center
The Center is working closely with the Inhalation Facility Core of the Environmental Sciences Health Center and Lung Biology & Disease Program, topography and surveys (Ossip/PHS), clinical samplings and lung function (UR CTSI-CRC), and assessment of toxicants (Roswell Park).
Our Research
The Center for Inhalation and Flavoring Toxicology studies the effects of inhaled irritants/toxicants and flavoring agents in respiratory system. We foster research and teaching on inhaled and flavorings toxicology to investigators and students.
Our Members
Our faculty span multiple departments & centers and are determined to provide updated information on emerging flavoring toxicity to the FDA/NIH and inform the public, schools, and other researchers about the dangers of using emerging tobacco or non-tobacco products include flavorings.
