Start Date

The start dates of fellows will be staggered throughout the year. The learning curve is steep, and scheduling fellows’ onboarding at intervals allows faculty to focus on optimal teaching for each fellow.

  • Cohort 1 (start date July 21, 2025):
    • 2 fellows (1 surgically-focused fellow and 1 advanced obstetrics fellow)
  • Cohort 2 (start date November 3, 2025):
    • 2 fellows (1 surgically-focused fellow and 1 advanced obstetrics fellow)

We anticipate a later start date may be of benefit to some applicants, but pose a barrier to other applicants. We hope to hear more about your individual needs during the application and interview process. There may be potential opportunities for clinical work for those in Cohort 2 who require employment while awaiting their fellowship start date.

Outpatient Clinic at Highland Family Medicine

Patient care sessions average 2 sessions per week. This includes none when on night float and an additional 2 office sessions per week while on elective. Fellows may participate in telehealth visits, walk-in clinic, or prenatal clinic. Maternity care (including gestational diabetes, hypertensive disorders, etc) and procedures are intermixed with acute and chronic primary care visits in the outpatient setting.
