What You Need To Know About Becoming a Volunteer
- New York State requirements need to be met. Information regarding these requirements will be given to you at your interview.
- Volunteers must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision, after proper training.
- Volunteers must be comfortable around patients, visitors, and family members in an acute-care facility and must be empathetic to their situations.
- Volunteers need to be clear communicators and speak fluent English.
- Shifts may vary depending on the type of volunteer position you choose. We offer morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend placements.
Time Commitment for Volunteers

College Students | One semester, 2-4 hours per week * If under 18, volunteers must have a valid working permit |
