Saturday Work 8/28

Crews will be on site Saturday 8/28 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Work will include drilling into the concrete foundation wall and slab on the outside of the current south addition. Workers will also be striping foundation forms in the canyon between the current south addition and the old south building.  All terrain fork lifts will be running and banging noises can be expected from the stripping process. There will be no tower crane operations on Saturday.

Next week’s work will include the tower crane lifting stub columns onto the third floor roof. Micro pile installation has also resumed for a week or so to compete the balance of the piles. This will include excavations for the shoring being installed with micro piles.

Construction of the ramped section of the South Access Drive to connect to Mt. Vernon Ave. is anticipated to start in Early September. Fill material will be placed in “lifts” and compacted until the final grade height is reached.

Typical levels of construction noise and vibrations are expected with all of these activities. For the deep foundation work, any possible vibrations will be monitored by a third party testing agency.
