Weekend Work and Retaining Wall Replacement

Micropile installation will be complete this week. Deep foundation, pile cap and grade beam installation will start following the completion of the micropile installation and will continue for approximately 10 weeks. Excavation and grading work will happen at the same time as the deep foundation installations.

South Building roofing work is nearing completion. Work includes tear-off of the existing roof, installation of a new roof and installation of new HVAC equipment.  This work requires cranes for rigging materials and equipment to the roof.  These are staged along Mt Vernon and require temporary road and sidewalk closures along Mt. Vernon in front of the South Building. This includes the parking spaces in front of Oncology on Mt. Vernon.

Starting on Monday 6/21, crews will be working to replace the retaining wall of the garden area on South Ave., next to the POB. The project is expected to take two weeks. The sidewalk on South Ave. between the Highland sign and the fire hydrant will be closed for safety reasons for the duration of the project. The road lane next to the project will also be partially closed at times and a flagger will be on hand for traffic as necessary. The work will be done Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturday 6/26 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Typical levels of construction noise and vibrations are expected with all of these activities. For the micropile and deep foundation work, any possible vibrations will be monitored by a third party testing agency.
