Installation of Test Piles for South Tower Project

The construction of the South Tower involves the installation of a number of piles into the ground. These piles are needed for the building’s foundation. A test pile will be installed on the South Building, nearest to Mt. Vernon Street on Tuesday, March 31 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. This will be done to gain final insight of the structural properties of the ground and confirm pile design and configuration.

During the pile install, an independent contractor will be on site to monitor the ground vibration near the ORs, the South Building, and the property line with our neighbors.  The results of the ground monitoring will be used to understand potential impacts and precautions that may be necessary when conducting the remainder of the pile installs.

During this work, there will be some construction vehicle exhaust and noises, including back up chimes.

As always, we appreciate your patience.
