North Wall and South Tower Update

North Wall
The next phase of the North Lot Wall project is moving forward with the placement of steel channels to secure the wall complete. Face brick installation is underway.

South Tower Project
Preparations for construction of the hospital’s patient tower are underway.  Construction of the new fuel tank room for the patient tower’s generators will begin at the end of March.  Interior enabling work in and adjacent to the South Building will start in late March/ early April.  This enabling work is expected to take about one year. Starting on Monday, March 16 the hospital’s South Loop access will close beginning at the end of the Bellevue Drive cul de sac (on hospital property). This area will be blocked to vehicle and foot traffic. There will be no public access to the South Loop. This includes URMC couriers and medical transportation companies. During this closure, all drop off and pickups will occur at the hospital entrance, main front loop. Construction fencing will be installed along the south loop on Bellevue Drive up to the Mt. Vernon sidewalk to indicate the construction area. The sidewalk on Mt. Vernon will not be blocked. Click here for a map of the construction area
