Mt. Vernon Ave. Partial Road Closure, Saturday 11/12/16

Mt. Vernon Ave. Partial Road Closure, Saturday 11/12/16

This Saturday, November 12, Mt. Vernon Ave. will be closed from Rockingham St. to the South end of Highland Hospital. This part of the road will be closed from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. so a crane can remove the current Linear Accelerator from the Radiation Oncology Department. Local traffic will be allowed on the street during the closure but delays can be expected. Highland Hospital will work with any households that are directly impacted by the closure.

A Linear Accelerator is a machine that provides external beam radiation treatments for patients with cancer. The old one is being removed so that a new one can be put in its place in the next few weeks. We will send out another notice when the new Linear Accelerator is ready to be installed.

Thank you for your patience. We apologize in advance for this inconvenience. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Continuing Construction on the New Addition

Continuing Construction on the New Addition

As part of the outdoor work that's left to be completed on the new South Addition, crews will be installing an ornamental fence on the east retaining wall, sometime in the next two weeks. With the addition completed, large amounts of noise from the construction site are no longer expected. Crews will still have a dumpster near the addition though, and a truck with a backup alarm will be picking it up occasionally as indoor construction continues.

Now that the ribbon cutting is finished, we would like to take this opportunity to thank our neighbors for their patience during this project. Highland Hospital Public Relations will continue to update this blog to provide our neighborhood with any updates on activities that are happening on hospital grounds that may impact them. We will also continue to hold our Highland Park Neighborhood Highland Hospital Interaction Committee meetings on a bimonthly basis.
