Breast Imaging Fellowship Program
I would like to welcome prospective candidates to the University of Rochester Department of Imaging Sciences Breast Imaging fellowship training program. The Breast Imaging fellowship is a one year non-accredited program that provides a large volume and variety of screening and diagnostic mammograms, breast ultrasounds, and breast MRIs. Fellows will gain experience in interventional procedures, preoperative needle localizations, stereotactic, ultrasound, and MRI-guided biopsies, cyst and abscess drainage, and ductograms.
During the fellowship year, rotations are done at URMC and outpatient sites. Fellows are expected to participate in a variety of conferences, including the weekly Multidisciplinary Breast Tumor Conference at the Wilmot Cancer Institute Pluta Cancer Center, engage in resident teaching, and there are multiple research opportunities.
We will be participating in the fellowship match, and prospective fellowship candidates should register with the Radiology Match, which is sponsored by the Society of Breast Imaging, and managed by the National Resident Matching Program.
Two positions are available per year, and we are seeking enthusiastic candidates. For more information about the Breast Imaging fellowship program, please contact our fellowship coordinator, Cheryl Papaleo.
