Hospitalist
Hospitalists are physicians who serve as the physicians-of-record for inpatients, focusing solely on taking care of hospitalized patients and coordinate their care during their hospital stay. Hospitalists provide continuity of care for patients, because they work only in the hospital and are available 24 hours a day.
When you are admitted to the hospital, your primary care provider will transfer the management of your care to a hospitalist, who will communicate with your PCP as needed throughout your stay. one of us. When you leave the hospital, your PCP is given an inpatient care summary and your primary care provider resumes your care at that point.
