Genes significantly enriched in WMPCs relative to their environment

132 significantly enriched genes were identified by our genomics analysis. Matched profiles of A2B5-sorted WMPCs and the tissue dissociate from a single white matter sample were compared against one another. Expression of reliably detected genes, those with at least one present call, were analyzed. Over 150 probes sets were identified that possessed significantly enriched expression in the WMPCs, i.e. significantly different ratios compared to unity as determined by a pair wise t-test, p<0.05, with 10% FDR multiple testing correction. These probe sets were annotated to 132 distinct genes using NCBI Entrez Gene, PubMed and GO to ascertain possible function in WMPC regulation (www.ncbi.nih.gov).

Genes significantly depleted in WMPCs relative to their environment

471 significantly depleted genes in WMPC were identified compared to the unsorted white matter dissociate. Matched profiles of each white matter tissue dissociate were compared against A2B5-sorted WMPCs. Expression of reliably detected genes in the tissue dissociate, those with at least one present call, were analyzed. From this list, 507 probes sets were identified that possessed significantly lower expression in the WMPCs than the tissue dissociate, i.e. significantly different ratios compared to unity as determined by a pair wise t-test, p<0.05, with 10% FDR multiple testing correction. These probe sets were annotated to 471 distinct genes using LocusLink, PubMed, and GO to ascertain possible function in WMPC regulation (www.ncbi.nih.gov).
