Working in the Lab

Graduate Students

We are looking for students interested in surgical imaging and cancer surgery, optical engineering, image processing or medical devices.  Students with backgrounds in biomedical, optical, computer or electrical engineering as well as computer science or related fields are encouraged to apply to the Biomedical Engineering graduate program

Students must be officially admitted to the UR Biomedical Engineering Department or the Optical Engineering Department, or the Graduate Biomedical Sciences Program before consideration can be made to join the lab. Interested students should contact Prof. Michael Giacomelli.

Undergraduate Students

UR undergraduate students interested in gaining research experience in the lab should contact Prof. Michael Giacomelli before each semester and provide:

  • Unofficial transcript
  • Statement of interest (what are you interested in doing?)
  • Resume
