Viral Contributors to Cancer

Cancer is a leading cause of global mortality. In collaboration with colleagues at the National Cancer Institute, we are using a unique patient cohort to determine if eukaryotic viruses or bacteriophage are predictive of later development of certain types of cancer. This work may lead to novel early biomarkers or treatment modalities to prevent cancer.
