Isabella, a technical assistant in the Ovitt laboratory for two years as an undergraduate, highlighted her stunning immunostained salivary gland images in an award-winning acrylic painting of historic Rush Rhees library.

Matthew Ingalls successfully defended his PhD thesis entitled “Acinar cell dynamics in salivary gland homeostasis and recovery from injury” on December 3, 2021. His thesis mentor was Dr. Catherine Ovitt, in the Center for Oral Biology and Biomedical Genetics. Matthew will start a postdoctoral position with Dr. Luis Batista at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
